Etsy shoppers make me feel as if they’ve walked into my shop. It’s personal. I love that. So, whether I make a mint or not is really insignificant. I love being an Etsy seller and now a buyer. It’s a feel-good online space to be a part of.
After coming up with the idea to sell handmade toaster covers, aka Toaster Huggees, I was very excited when a co-worker introduced me to Etsy.com as a way to promote my new idea. I’m not much of a shopper, and less of an online shopper, so I’d never heard of Etsy. After looking into what Esty had to offer, I excitedly signed up and listed my first toaster covers.

What I did not expect was how much I enjoyed interacting with Etsy shoppers. My first sale came about 3 weeks after I set up shop. I was so excited I was unable to go to sleep that night. I love my Toaster Huggees, but to hear the same sentiment echoed back to me was priceless!
As more sales came my way, I had the pleasure of interacting with shoppers who asked me to delay shipping, when I might be adding more colors, could I make a 4-slice toaster cover, and customize color and size?
I was just so geeked to see an idea come to fruition and validated by others.
