There’s no manufacturer spitting these out by the thousands. I sew every decorative stitch and I love doing it. I am indeed a one-stop-shop.
I package the products; and they are shipped in lovely neon packaging. This way Toaster Huggees are more likely to make it to it’s destination. I personally take them to the carrier for processing. It’s my way of adding a personal touch to everything I do.
The Toaster Huggee cover is intended to keep dust mites and other floating particles from getting into the toaster while not in use. Toaster Huggees compliment your toaster and its intent is to also add flare to your kitchen’s décor. This is the reason for such a variety of colors and designs.
The neutral colors of black and gray never go out of style. I’ve found this ever so true as I sought to introduce Toaster Huggee® colors to fit most kitchen decors. No matter the occasion they are definitely the go-to colors. Black and grays can be casual or you can dress them up. It’s usually an easy transition. (Buy here or Etsy.com)
These Toaster Huggee® covers usually include shades of gray and some with a sprinkle of white either embedded in the fabric design or the decorative stitching.
Toaster Huggee® covers showcase a wide spectrum of designs to include geometric prints, flowers, paisleys, and solids. You will experience bright yellows, blues, greens, browns, and red. But these colors pale in comparison with Toaster Huggee® toaster covers designs that are either black, gray or a combination of both.
While watching a recent episode of “Marrying Millions” on the Lifetime Network, I was surprised to see an obviously expensive and attractive 4-slice toaster sitting on the kitchen counter…..
Uncovered!
Your Toaster is in Dire Need of a Toaster Huggee® Toaster Cover
The kitchen looked clean, but the toaster just sat there to catch whatever floated into it. Just think, you’re going to cook something in your toaster and the longer between uses, in my germaphobic mind, the more dust mites, and who knows what else has the opportunity to be served up with your bagel or toast.

I am nobody’s cook, but every blue moon I stumble upon a kitchen creation that actually taste good. And my family members, who are very finicky eaters asked me to make it twice so far. Even the kids liked it!
If you’re a salad foodie then you might be interested! I must warn that you should at least know your way around the kitchen. The ingredients I can share, but specific measurements …. can only be estimates!
Here is what you need:
Shredded Coleslaw Mix
I love to use Whole Foods Coleslaw Mix. It’s already shredded and has carrots and red cabbage mixed in and it’s organic. I try to go organic with the entire recipe.
A small box of fresh organic Baby Spinach
Aldi’s is my favorite store for purchasing this item.
One organic apple – any type – I prefer sweet apples
Walnut pieces (not crushed)
Organic Mayonnaise
Organic Raw Honey – The tastier the honey the better the dressing
Organic Onion Powder
Organic Vinegar
Directions for Putting it all Together:
The first thing is to take about a half of the 5 oz box of organic spinach and shred it, similar to how cabbage is shredded for coleslaw. This varies by taste, but try not to let the spinach outdo the cabbage, after all it is a coleslaw treat! Next, dice up an apple into small pieces, a medium sized apple will do the trick.
Grab a fairly large mixing bowl and throw in the coleslaw mix first. (You can also shred a cabbage and use carrot sticks or slice lengthwise a few carrots.) However, you’ll find the coleslaw blend much easier! Then add the shredded spinach, apple, and about a ¼ to ½ cup of walnuts. Mix it thoroughly. If it looks too green for you then add more of the coleslaw mix. That’s what I usually do.
The Secret!
Now, for the secret to the entire dish; the dressing! This will make or break your dish. In a small bowl mix together the following:
3-4 tablespoons of mayonnaise (If you’re making a small batch use less.)
1-3 teaspoons of vinegar – use less at first. This loosens up the dressing.
1-3 tablespoons of honey – I never measure I just pour and add according to taste.
1-3 teaspoons of onion powder – once again not an exact science.
Blend well and season to taste. If you like your coleslaw sweeter add more honey, less if you don’t. Once you’ve gotten the dressing tasting just the way you like it, mix it completely with the cabbage, spinach, apple and walnut blend. I like my coleslaw a little creamy, so I keep adding the dressing until it is the right texture.
Questions? – Happy to answer. Would love to hear about your experience!
Every single Toaster Huggee® toaster cover I hand make is special to me. I select the fabrics trying to imagine myself in the kitchen of my friends, family, and neighbors.
After six months of online selling, favorites have emerged.
Another eye opener is just how many 4-slice toasters are out there! I’ve also made custom toaster covers for the elongated toasters such as Breville Long Slottoasters. This has been a fun endeavor.
The next is the brown coffee cup design,I call my Café Mocha Toaster Huggee®.
I love my cup of coffee in the morning, and this design also inspired potholders. I discovered this beautiful fabric at Hobby Lobby:my new favorite place to shop!
There’s not one toaster cover I wouldn’t keep for myself. I’d just need quite a few toasters. And yes, I have a few designs just waiting for someone to love them.
There are occasions when I just don’t have the pattern to match someone’s kitchen décor. I take delight in the opportunity to try and find something that matches. It may take a little longer. But this is wh/y I’m excited about the Toaster Huggee toaster cover as this is one of the main reasons, I thought others would love them as much as I do—it matches the kitchen décor!
Etsy shoppers make me feel as if they’ve walked into my shop. It’s personal. I love that. So, whether I make a mint or not is really insignificant. I love being an Etsy seller and now a buyer. It’s a feel-good online space to be a part of.
Toaster Huggee Toaster Covers
After coming up with the idea to sell handmade toaster covers, aka Toaster Huggees, I was very excited when a co-worker introduced me to Etsy.com as a way to promote my new idea. I’m not much of a shopper, and less of an online shopper, so I’d never heard of Etsy. After looking into what Esty had to offer, I excitedly signed up and listed my first toaster covers.
What I did not expect was how much I enjoyed interacting
with Etsy shoppers. My first sale came about 3 weeks after I set up shop. I was
so excited I was unable to go to sleep that night. I love my Toaster Huggees,
but to hear the same sentiment echoed back to me was priceless!
As more sales came my way, I had the pleasure of interacting with shoppers who asked me to delay shipping, when I might be adding more colors, could I make a 4-slice toaster cover, and customize color and size?
Great Gift Ideas
I was just so geeked to see an idea come to fruition and validated by others.
